We finally managed to do the long awaited photoshoot.. and from my grin *still grinning*, it was a good one.. Alhamdulillah!
We hiked up 1.4km in the reserved jungle... all covered with insect repellents and proper shoes early in the morning just to get the right amount of sun.. The crew - Atiqah Hidayu (Photographer) , Nur Shafinaz (Prod Asst), Marsha Milan Londoh (Subject), Dato' Sri Syadha Rosli (Creative Director).. oh and not to forget clothes by iNNAi.. Thanks Izrin for the sponsor!
Flashing back to a few weeks ago, when i was looking for the right venue for the photoshoot -- I received many reactions.. Many thought the idea of bringing Marsha to the middle of the jungle and asking her to strike a pose for the camera is just bizzare, crazy and impossible..
"Marsha masuk hutan? Gila ke?"
"Boleh ke dia tu?"
"Kau gila ke syad? Buat studio dah laa.. kesian budak tu.."
"Boleh ke dia tu?"
"Kau gila ke syad? Buat studio dah laa.. kesian budak tu.."
One thing about me...
I might sound rediculous sometimes..
But i usually know what i wish for..
You can demotivate me..
But i can motivate myself if believe in something..
AND ..
I only wish for what i believe in.
Well, lets just say i want to push her to the limits.. After all, Marsha was a Pathfinder.. remember?
Anyway, thats passed and we did it after all.. With an awesome small crew, we pulled it off together with fun and success.. I always admired Atiqah's work and always wanted to do a photoshoot with her.. She's not a full time photographer and is still building her portfolio, so i thought it would be just nice to have her shoot this time..
We didn't encounter much problems.. It was a perfect sunny day.. only that lead the crew through the wrong path in the beginning that cost us about 15minutes of hiking and turning back.. my bad! hahahah...
Marsha was such a sport.. I guess she's used to the jungle that often times, despite the short sleeveless white dress, she was ahead of us.. Whereas we were left far behind scratching away.. On top of that she voluntarily took off her shoes so we could get a raw looking picture...
Walking barefoot.. And yet no leeches cared to hump on those sexy legs! .... And us? Jangan cerita ler.. As we speak, i have 2 pacat spots on my legs and i was fully covered! Not Fair! All and all we did 4 sets - Jungle, Oak Forest, Open Field, Waterfall.. I'm only gonna put in here the making of the jungle set.. Partly because i want to keep the others exclusive for the rebranding... AND partly because.. i only have these in my computer at the moment!.. Hahhahhhaha..

We wrapped up around 2pm.. It was tiring but fun.. All 4 shots had their identity.. i'll post up some samples once i get hold of the stock..
The photoshoot is meant for the re-branding of Marsha Londoh.. It's the baby project that Marsha and I am working on now.. I wanted all her character, personality, background to come together.. On top of that, a sense of 'searching' and 'discovering' - hence the concept.
"Buat je kat Studio.. and then superimpose", said a few comrades of mine.
Well, i guess we could do it in the studio.. but how about 'No' this time? I might be a bit traditional, but i like to do things on the actual set.. It gives a different mood.. And of course a priceless photo.. Unless you have a million dollar CGI studio, i don't think it is the same..
Do you watch America's Top Model? Did they just stay in the studio n shoot everything?.. That's just how they do it in the States.. I remembered Reese Witherspoon once had to pose in between branches on a tree in the middle of the cold autumn with a strapless dress.. Oh well, they could have done Lord of The Rings in the studio but no.. they chose New Zealand instead. Why?
Go Figure.
