My new addiction...

So let me guess.

You guys are addicted to... Facebook?

While you guys are menyebook in facebook... (Menyebook shall be a new kata kerja in Kamus Dewan Bahasa defining the term "facebook-ing" in Malay).. i have found a new addiction.

Ladies and gentlemen ...

Basically ReverbNation is a portal that was initially developed to focus on the independent music industry. It provides a central site for musicians, producers, and venues to collaborate and communicate. Due to it's practical innovations, it has recently breakthrough the mainstream music industry worldwide. Still pre-mature, but the potential is there.

I am a computer nerd.. and i have tested many online music business management tools.. By far, Reverbnation is best at serving the main purpose of a website or any online media - i.e Promotion n Marketing.. I mean, with the variety of widgets and multi-portal new media integration (twitter, facebook, youtube, and your websites).. what more an artist manager cum web developer like me can ask for?!

Okay.. i'm not gonna go on and on sounding nerdy..

Here's the thing about my addiction.. For the past 3 days (at least), i have been playing around reverbnation, understanding how things work and how i can make the best out of it.. Reverbnation has a  feature called Band Equity that measures popularity based on four metrics of its service - reach, influence, access, and recency with the top 100 of each genre being recognized..

So for the past 3 days i have been playing this virtual strategy war game and quickly developed some skills... I got so hooked up that Marsha Milan Londoh went from ranking no 979 to no 12 in two days!!!

And guess what.. right before i started writing this entry, Marsha Milan Londoh has gone to #7!!!!

If only its THAAAT easy in real life.
